Born in Cape Canaveral, Florida in 1974, I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. I graduated from Northside Christian Academy in 1993. I attended Pensacola Christian College, and I graduated in 1997 with degrees in speech and English education. My husband and I married in May of 1997, and we moved to Franklin, TN in August of 1998. I attend Parish Presbyterian Church, where my pastor is Dr. George Grant. I have been a freelance editor since February of 2006.
I love my job for several reasons. First, I've always loved books and writing. I discovered in high school that I could help my friends get better grades by marking their term papers before the teacher saw them. After some detours through the theater and the classroom, I have returned to my first love. I still write to please myself, but I take great pride and joy in helping my fellow authors produce the best books they can write.
I also love my job because it allows me time with my five great kids and my fabulous husband. God has blessed me in my family, and I spend as much time with them as I can. I can work at three in the morning in my pajamas if my schedule gets stuffed (and it does).
Finally, I love my job because it is the way God made me to praise Him. God showed Himself to us in His Word and in His Word made flesh. Words and stories hold a special place in His heart. I reflect a little of His glory back to Him when I create or help others create a story that is good and beautiful and true.
